60,000 trees planted and dedicated in Burkina Faso
Our tree-planting community in Burkina Faso, tells us about their recent efforts.
Lazare Doulcom, our contact person in Burkina Faso, says that the government initiated a tree-planting project, led by the Ministry of Environment.
His association, the ‘Heirs and Continuators of Thomas Sankara’s Work for the Environment’ took part in this project, and planted 60,000 trees!
Lazare also tells us that “My commitment to the environment in general, and to trees in particular, dates back to 1996 with the creation of the ecological movement in Burkina Faso.
In 2010, I created an environmental news bulletin, and since 2021, I have been the national coordinator of the association ‘Heirs and Continuators of Thomas Sankara’s Work for the Environment’.”
Lazare is so passionate about trees and the environment, that he makes music about it! Have a look at this YouTube music video that Lazare made, to raise awareness about the environment.
Thank you very much, Lazare, for your hard work and efforts to raise awareness and protect our environment! We enjoyed hearing your story!
