Fifty trees planted and dedicated to fighting deforestation and biodiversity loss

Our friends in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) continue with their tree-planting efforts. Ushindi Kashali, who leads a local group called ASOSOasbl, tells us about his motivation to plant trees!

He says that “deforestation and lack of biodiversity on our island have pushed me to plant fruit trees in agroforestry systems”.

At the beginning of March, Ushindi and his local group planted 50 fruit trees, including avocado and mango trees.

Ushindi has planted and dedicated more trees with ASOSOasbl. He told us that this group also works on other projects, such as gender-based violence, child protection, and education.

Thank you for planting and dedicating your trees on the global tree-planting map, and thank you for inspiring our youth to care for Mother Earth!

Are you in the DRC and want to get involved with tree planting? Get in touch with our coordinator in the DRC, Jérémy Arusi Adeba, or contact Ushindi Kashali to learn more about this project!
