Manica Youth Assembly Celebrates National Tree Planting Day!
The day was an exhilarating and rewarding experience! We ventured outdoors, energized by the spirit of National Tree Planting Day, and planted over 55 vibrant indigenous trees in Mutare. Each tree represents our commitment to the theme “Trees and Forests for Ecosystem Restoration and Improved Livelihoods,” emphasising the vital role that forests play in nurturing our environment and supporting communities.
The fresh air filled with the scent of earth and greenery made the day even more memorable as we embraced our mission to restore and enhance our ecosystem and mitigating the effects of climate change and enhancing community beauty and char.
Our tree planting initiative is just one example of our commitment to environmental conservation and community development. We believe that young people have the power to drive positive change and create a more sustainable future. The National Tree planting Day is commemorated every year on the first Saturday of December. The day is set aside to motivate the nation to plant and conserve trees, enhance biodiversity and household food security.
