Meet Katy, our new Spanish Branch Coordinator!

Our team keeps growing. Today, we welcome Katy Pelaéz, our branch coordinator for Spain. Originally from Colombia, Spain is Katy’s adopted home.

Katy shares with us that several reasons made her fall in love with the idea of joining the Global Tree Initiative (GTI).

The first, she says, is the feeling of union that grows with a team like GTI.

Another reason is that Katy finds being in contact with Mother Earth, “regenerates and transforms us”. The impact of planting is important for Katy. She is also aware of the need for more sustainable lifestyles.

Katy adds that she is deeply inspired by Tenzin Ösel Hita, founder of the Global Tree Initiative. She says, “I am lucky to have him close. His way of seeing life encourages me to participate as a volunteer in the GTI”.

Lastly, Katy says, “I would like everyone to know that near Barcelona there is a place they can count on”. So, if you happen to be anywhere near Barcelona, reach out to Katy.  Maybe you can plant a tree with her or simply get to know each other.

Thank you so much, Katy, for your loving and open heart and for being part of our GTI team!

Please share this. Thank you!
