One tree planted and dedicated to Shriya Nilkanth Iyer for her birthday!
On the 5th of June, one Neem tree was planted in the state of Maharashtra, India. Sandhya tells us that Ms. Priya Iyer approached her, and asked if a tree could be planted for her daughter, Shriya’s upcoming birthday.
Without hesitation, the Neem tree was planted and dedicated!
This tree was also planted on World Environment Day, and marks the planting of many more trees to come! Sandhya tells us that this tree is the start of her Devrai (Sacred Grove), a project inspired by Mr. Raghunath Dhole.
For more information on Sacred Groves, visit Mr. Raghunath Dhole’s website.
Thank you very much for the inspiring story, Sandhya! We are excited to see how your Sacred Grove develops, and we wish Shriya Nilkanth Iyer a very happy birthday!
Please visit the HIRWAI website to see more about Sandhya’s incredible work, and to see how you can support her projects. If you also want to have a tree planted on behalf of the birthday of a loved one, Sandhya can help you!
And, with special thanks to the Global Tree Initiative Director, Hans Timpner, for making a generous donation to HIRWAI to facilitate tree-planting projects!
