Preserving our Christmas trees!
Sarah Alswid and her son, Amir, tell us about their Christmas trees.
This year, little Amir will celebrate his second Christmas. His mother is educating him about trees and the environment from an early age. She shows him that it is much better to plant a tree for Christmas than to buy a tree and dispose of it a few days after Christmas.
This year, they have two Christmas trees. A small one standing on their kitchen table, and a bigger one that Amir got from his grandfather. After Christmas, both trees will be planted in the garden.
Sarah is also taking this opportunity to dedicate these two trees to her teacher, Lama Zopa Rinpoche.
Thank you for sharing your educational story with us, Sarah.
We wish you and little Amir a Merry Christmas!
Do you have Christmas trees that you will be planting too?
