Starting Small

In the fishing and surfing town of Jeffreys Bay, South Africa, Francois Fick donated a Bottlebrush tree to his son’s kindergarten, Smiley Kids.

This opened the opportunity to educate the toddlers. They were taught about the importance of trees, nature, and how we share the same space. Together, they will care for the tree, see it grow, and appreciate its shade on the sunny summer days.

Shortly after, Francois and his young son Robbie planted three Papaya trees at their home. The importance of trees and our connection with nature was explained and experienced by young Robbie, as he was watering the new trees.

A few weeks later, Francois and Robbie planted three more trees in their garden – Yucca trees, this time.

Once again, we are reminded about the importance of environmental awareness education. Saving our future generations is not only about planting trees. It is also about setting an example, and inspiring and educating our youth, no matter where we live on planet earth.

It starts small, and it starts with each one of us.
It starts at our own home and our local kindergarten.

Even one seed counts!
