Students of CEPT University, Ahmedabad, plant and adopt 30 trees!

Mr. Dipen Mehta, one of our dedicated regional coordinators in India, tells us about the latest tree-planting activity in his area.

“A total of 30 trees were planted by students (3rd and 4th year, Faculty of Technology) of CEPT University, Ahmedabad, Gujarat, including members of the Indian Plumbing Association Student Chapter.

The intention behind this action was to create awareness about the environment and the importance of trees.

The event was organized jointly by CEPT University, Indian Plumbing AssociationAhmedabad Student Chapter, and the Global Tree Initiative (GTI) India.

The students participated in this activity with enthusiasm! We are thankful to CEPT University for providing space for plantation, and making the necessary arrangements” Dipen says.

Among the trees planted, were Neem (Azadirachta indica), Gulmohar (Delonix regia), and Asopalav (Polyalthia longifolia) species.

The students who planted the trees also pledged to care for them, Dipen tells us! He says that “I encouraged the students to adopt one tree each, per student, which they have accepted and ensured to monitor the trees’ wellness, together with Professor Dipsha Shah.”

Thank you for sharing this great news with us, Mr. Dipen Mehta, and thank you and the students of CEPT University for planting the 30 trees!
