Ten olive trees planted by Lisbon’s Psychiatric Center

Lisbon’s Psychiatric Center has accepted the Global Tree-Planting Challenge, and dedicated 10 olive trees to World Youth Day (WYD) Lisbon 2023.

On June 5 (World Environment Day) ten olive trees made it to our global tree-planting map. Lisbon’s Psychiatric Center joins Fundação JMJ Lisboa 2023 in their effort to make the WYD an inclusive and environmentally friendly event.

The Center is also committed to making its patients feel included in the WYD that happens in just a few weeks (in August). Since the patients cannot attend the event firsthand, a group of volunteers is going to visit them at the hospital and spend time with them there.

Then, these volunteers will join the WYD and symbolically take their new friends from Lisbon’s Psychiatric Center with them.

This will be an opportunity for the patients to meet new people, make friends, and engage in different activities.

Thank you for the trees planted and for the story shared. It is a good example of the importance of kindhearted and selfless actions and building a sense of community.
