Welcome, South Korea: fifteen trees dedicated to JMJ Lisboa 2023!
In the past month, our global tree-planting map has received several trees dedicated to World Youth Day (WYD) Lisbon 2023 (JMJ Lisboa 2023, in Portuguese).
Even though the planting season is over in Portugal (where the next edition of the WYD is taking place), the JMJ Lisboa 2023 Global Tree Planting Challenge still counts with many tree planters worldwide.
A group from South Korea planted and dedicated 15 trees earlier this month. This was the first report coming from South Korea, making it the 65th country on our map!
Welcome!
Maria Esther shares a little bit of their day with us:
“On our way to WYD Lisbon 2023, we discovered, with the help of Pope Francis, the importance of tree planting and caring for the environment.
Reduce, reuse, a simple life, gratitude, prayer, and organic and local food are part of what makes us happy and helps us create a better future.
On the 5th of May, some of those who will go from South Korea to Lisbon for the WYD, went to the countryside in Daejeon, South Korea, to have a day of volunteer work and to learn more about organic farming and sustainable lifestyles.”

Deep gratitude to you for sharing your story with us, Maria! Your account will inspire more people to plant trees and “care for our Common Home”.
Welcome to our global community. We hope to hear more from you in the future!
