People Socio-economic Development Society in India plants 500 trees!
This inspiring success story was shared with us by Ramchandirane Ramalingam from Tamil Nadu in India.
Ramachandirane, the President of People Socio Economic Development Society (PSDS), tells us that PSDS is a small NGO working in Tamil Nadu, South India. They serve rural children and women through evening schools, skill training, and community development programs.
This inspiring NGO runs many inspiring initiatives, such as women empowerment, healthcare, education, and dengue awareness, just to name a few! They also do tree-planting projects.
Ramachandirane tells us that “In the heart of rural South India, near Pondicherry, our organization PSDS works closely with underserved communities. From 2016 to 2025, inspired by our commitment to nature and community development, we planted 500 trees across three villages.
From children in our evening schools to women’s groups and local families, everyone took part. Each tree represents hope for cleaner air, cooler villages, and a greener tomorrow. This initiative has not only improved the environment but also brought people together in unity and
purpose. We believe that planting a tree is planting a future!”

As a dedication, Ramachandirane says that “On behalf of PSDS, and under the leadership of myself, we planted trees because of my personal interest in creating a greener Earth. My aim is to protect nature and, at the same time, uplift the lives of poor and needy people through our environmental actions.
This tree planting is not just an activity, but a symbol of our commitment to both environmental sustainability and social development!”
Thank you so much for your beautiful work and for your dedication, Ramachandirane! We are so happy to hear about your work, and we take great pleasure in promoting your efforts!
