The final planting for 2025 at Daylesford Dharma School

Our first Success Story for 2026 comes from the last planting reported for 2025, submitted by Mark Allaway.

This planting was part of the Trees for Schools project at Daylesford Dharma School, Australia.

On the 12th of December, Mark, Jill, and their supervisor, Barry the Aussie Terrier, made an additional 29 plantings! These plantings included Gahnia sieberiana, Poa labillardieri, Bursaria spinosa, and many more!

Mark told us that “This is the very final planting of 2025. Just before the end of the school year, we reflect on the work of all staff, students, and supporters from GTI to create a harmonious ecological environment at the school through the Trees for Schools Project 2025. We will continue to plant the remaining trees and shrubs in the new year and wish everyone a safe and happy festive season.”

After planting, they dedicated their hard work and efforts to “the good health, long life, and continued teaching of HH The Dalai Lama and the quick location of Kyabje Lama Zopa Rinpoche in Nepal. We also dedicate the merits to all the sentient beings that have died as a result of our work on the site, through ligging, and clearing weeds, etc. May they have a fortunate higher rebirth in the next life. Om Mane Pedme Hum.”
