Welcome to our New Zealand Regional Coordinator, Bengu!

Originally from Turkey, Bengu now lives in Nelson, New Zealand. She works as the program coordinator for the Chandrakirti Tibetan Buddhist meditation centre.

She became aware of the Global Tree Initiative through following our founder, Tenzin Ösel Hita, on his website and Facebook page.

Bengu was naturally attracted to the Global Tree Initiative (GTI) because she loves nature photography. She recently planted a tree too! Bengu tells us that “I planted this one special tree for all the friendships I have. It also represents the new beginning after a big tree being cut down.”

Thank you for joining us, planting your tree, and sharing your story, Bengu!

We are so happy to have you on our team!
