This story comes from our friends in the southern Caribbean. Hans Timpner tells us about the recent Peace Tree ceremony that happened on the island of Aruba.
On the 21st of September (the International Day of Peace), a group of friends came together around the “Let-Love-Rule Peace-Tree”.
Hans shares that a group of wonderful people came “to sign a peace treaty, play drums, sing a song of Love and Peace, drink peace (peas) tea, honor the sacred tree, and light the fire of wisdom!” The participants came from various locations, including Aruba, Canada, the Netherlands, Saint Martin, Spain, Australia, Colombia, and Suriname.
Their peace tree, the Pal’i Sia Cora, scientifically known as Bursera simaruba, is an endangered tree native to Aruba, and sadly, on its way to becoming extinct.

Friends around the Peace Tree*
A friend of Hans, Sofie Slegers, said that “With a heart filled with gratitude, I want to thank all who came to celebrate International Peace Day around the Let Love Rule Peace Tree Aruba this morning with a ceremony of peaceful intentions, sounds, and a fire of wisdom. I am filled with gratitude and super excited to say that our pal’i sia cora tree is already sprouting new shoots.”
Their dedication:
LET LOVE RULE PEACE TREE
INHALE LOVE
EXHALE PEACE
Thank you, Hans, Sofie, and everyone else who took part in this beautiful ceremony! We appreciate your dedication, and we thank you for sharing this heartfelt story with us.
